HHS Learning Portal

The SAMHSA DTM and HHS Section 508 training sessions require some level of experience with the Microsoft Office 2003 Word, PowerPoint, and Excel applications.

For those with little or no experience with Microsoft Office, please take advantage of the following HHS learning portal for basic training to prepare for the DTM and HHS Section 508 briefings.

MS Word Training

Basic knowledge of MS Word is necessary to make Word (.doc) documents 508 compliant. If you are not familiar with the MS Word features below, you should register for the free HHS Learning Portal training by clicking on the links below.

Basic knowledge of MS Word includes:

  • Proper use of styles (ex. Header 1, Header 2, etc).
  • How to create a table with a header row
  • How to create a table of contents
  • How to create linked footnotes
  • How to add descriptive text to an image (using the "alt" tag)
  • How to delete comments
  • How to finalize your document and accept all tracked changes
